Effect of Lanthanum Oxide on the Activity Ni-Co/Diatomite Catalysts in Dry Reforming of Methane

The effect of modifying additive (La2О3) on the activity Ni-Co oxides was studied for dry reforming methane (DRM). catalysts were prepared by impregnation granulated diatomite (D) and characterized SEM, EDX, H2-TPR, XRD, AES. It is shown that addition 1.5 wt.% La2O3 into Ni-Co/D composition leads to an increase in catalyst, providing a conversion close under thermodynamic equilibrium conditions temperature range 700‒850 °С. highest achieved at T = 850 °C, 96%, carbon dioxide 92%. lanthanum oxide led catalyst stability; after testing DRM reaction 360 min, deactivation coefficient 3.4%, 2.5%. While significant observed Ni-Co/D, 19%, 36%. Many characterization results (SEM, XRD) confirm Ni-Co-La/D has abundant surface oxygen presence spinel structures contribute reactivity CH4 CO2, which positively affect its activity.
